GT4 Winter Series contenders continue strong performances across Europe this summer

Time flies and even more months have passed since the last GT4 Winter Series race – the final 60-minute endurance race at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on March 10th took place. As much as we love to look back on the amazing winter season of 2024, we took a step in the other direction and took a quick look at what and how our GT4 Winter Series competitors are doing during the summer season.

The GT4 racing season is in full swing around mainland Europe, and drivers and teams from the GT4 Winter Series are performing exceptionally well thus far in the season!

Elite Motorsport and Tom Lebbon currently lead the standings in the GT4 European Series Silver teams and drivers championships respectively. Lebbon is sharing the McLaren Artura with Joshua Rattican, and while the pair are yet to win in class, three podiums from four races mean that points continue to flow towards the British team. A pair of familiar names – Lluc Ibanez and Alexandre Papadopolous – are fourth in the Silver class for NM Racing Team. The pair claimed a win in the first race of the weekend at the second round in Misano.
NM Racing Team were the GT4WS AM champions, and currently hold top-five positions in both the Silver and AM teams points in GT4 Europe.

In the PRO-AM class, Finn Zulauf and Max Kronberg are racing for W&S Motorsport, as they did in GT4WS. A race-winning weekend in Paul Ricard was followed up by a tough time in Misano, however, they still sit third in the standings heading into round three at Spa.

The W&S squad have also made a strong start to the season with Zulauf and Josef Knopp in ADAC GT4 Germany. Following the first two weekends at Oschersleben and Lausitz, the pair currently sit second in the standings, while the sister car featuring Kronberg and Hendrik Still is fourth. Wimmer Werk Motorsport’s Ivan Ekelchik currently sits sixth in the overall standings, sharing the familiar orange and white Porsche Cayman with Ferdinand Winter.

The last word goes to a pair of Schnitzelalm Racing’s two young talents; Enrico Forderer and Joel Mesch. Sharing the distinctive green and black Mercedes, they took a clean sweep of GT4 victories in the season opening GTC Race/GT60 weekend at Oschersleben. Mesch, already a champion in GT60, will be looking to share the top step with Enrico all summer!
The summer programmes of our GT4 Winter Series teams continue to showcase the benefits of extending racing efforts into the winter months!
