Forsetti star in Britain as GT4 Winter Series stars begin summer season

More than two months have passed since the last GT4 Winter Series race – the final 60-minute endurance race at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on March 10th took place. As much as we love to look back on the amazing winter season of 2024, we took a step in the other direction and took a quick look at what and how our GT4 Winter Series competitors are doing during the summer season.

Forsetti Motorsport once again found the top step of the podium on its first attempt, taking a GT4 victory during the season-opening 60-minute race at Oulton Park. The familiar pairing of Mikey Porter and Jamie Day – who clinched Forsetti’s first ever win in GT4 Winter Series at Estoril – took the chequered flag on Forsetti’s first-ever British racing appearance. They also won the Silver sub-class of GT4 in race two. They finished just behind the team’s second car, driven by Marc Warren and William Orton, who secured GT4 PRO-AM runner-up in both races.

A runner-up finish for GT4WS overall champions Day and Porter came at the three-hour Silverstone 500 on the 28th of April. This was enough to secure them the overall lead in the British championship’s GT4 class, in their fleet of new-generation Aston Martin Vantage GT4s.

GT4 Winter Series PRO-AM champion Charles Dawson and his driver coach Seb Morris lead GT4 Pro-AM and sit third in the overall championship, competing for Team Parker Racing. Zac Meakin, who competed with Elite Motorsport in our Winter Season, is currently second in the overall championship racing a McLaren Artura.

Forsetti and Mikey Porter are also leading the teams and drivers’ overall championships in the GT Cup UK series. The young Brit is sharing with Matthew Higgins, while a second, all-Female Forsetti Aston features a familiar face to GT4WS, Rianna O’Meara Hunt. They sit third among the GT4 cars, behind leaders Porter and Higgins, and the Team Parker Mercedes of Charles Dawson and Seb Morris.
